One of my goals each year is to save money. Except I’m not very good in this department and usually by February I’ve stopped adding to my savings and started using what money is there. I’m hoping this simple 52 week Savings Challenge will help me stay on track in 2017. Are you with me?
52 Week Savings Challenge
In case you’ve never heard of the 52 Week Money Savings Challenge, I will give you a quick overview. Basically each week you are to set aside money in an envelope, safe, bank or wherever you stash your savings. You start by saving $1 the first week, $2 the second week, and so on. By the end of 52 weeks (one year) you will have saved $1,378.00!!! Can you imagine having that much extra money by this time next year?
For me, the best part of this challenge is that you start small and work your way up to the largest amount, which is only $52 and that’s really not that much at all! In the end, you will have an extra $1,378 that you can add to your emergency or vacation fund, deposit into a college savings account or even pay for next years Christmas gifts.
I was telling a friend of mine about the challenge and she mentioned that it would be fun to work backward and add $52 the first week, $51 the second week, and so on getting less each week instead of more. So I made a reverse version of the challenge to share with you too in case you wanted to give it a go.
Lately, I’ve had many requests for half-size versions of past printables, so you will find both of these challenges in a large (8.5″ x 11″) and a small size (5.5″ x 8.5″).
