Bullet Journal February Layout

Hey there friends, you may know that I am a Pen, Paper, Notebook and Planner Addict. In fact, I was just told yesterday that I have too many pens! I laughed it off and with a huge smile I said, “why yes, I do! It’s an addiction and I love it”  I have to admit that my collection has grown since I started a bullet journal a few months ago.

Since October I have been using these little graph paper notebooks to try out the Bullet Journal system and see if I was going to like it and be able to stick to it. Well, I did and I love it!

I was keeping a separate notebook for each month but I was getting tired of carrying 2 or 3 notebooks with me to refer to collections and notes from the previous months. So I decided that if I was really going to do this I needed to commit to it and splurge for a real journal.

Enter the Leuchtturm1917

First of all, isn’t the color beautiful?! It’s not exactly mint green but it’s a pretty teal color that matches the rest of my mint addiction perfectly.

In true procrastinator fashion, I waited too long to order and I didn’t receive my journal till the middle of January. I spent the next week or so getting things set up and practicing my handwriting. If you read through this whole post you will see a few mistakes. Trust me, if the pages weren’t numbered I would’ve ripped them out lol.

The first few pages of the Leuchtturm1917  have 3 preprinted table of contents pages but the first page I used is a a reduced copy of the very first Mandala I ever drew and a full 2016 calendar.

The next page in my layout is for my 2016 Goals and my word of the year. I’ve picked the word Patience. I’m a little stressed out lately and have been told that I don’t have any patience. So I am trying to be more aware of what I say and how I say it.

The next 8 pages are for my future log and braindump. At this point, I must confess that I got my inspiration from the very talented Kara @ Boho Berry. Back when I was scrapbooking and you wanted to copy someone’s page layout it was called scraplifting and it was an honor for someone to use your idea. I hope the same holds true in the bullet journal community because I scraplifted the heck out of her style.

I chose to show you the April-June page because it looked the best out of all 4.

Did you notice the blue and pink Washi? I will be using a different color Washi for each month. I’m using the Washi along the edges of each monthly spread to show the separation and then a little piece folded over in the same spot for all the other pages in the month. So Far I’ve used blue for January and pink for February.

    • Thank you so much! 🙂 I have to give most of the credit to Kara at Boho Berry and her fabulous tutorials…especially for How to draw a Mandala! xoxo

    • Hi Angela, I’m really loving it! It most definitely helps with my productivity and helps keep me accountable for what I need to do.

    • Thank you, I’m so happy you like it! I’m hoping use a different color polka dot washi for each month. Thanks for stopping by xoxo

  2. Wow! Your hand lettering is just beautiful. I too love all things paper and journals are no exceptions. Love how you customized yours with colours, washi tape. P.S. The more pens the merrier! 😉

    • Thank you so much Barb, I’ve been practicing a lot and still need lots more. But I’m really loving my Bullet Journal and all the creativity I have found with it. And yes, you can never have too many pens 🙂

    • Thank you so much! If you want to give bullet journaling a try before going all out, do what I did and get a small notebook to use as a trial run. That way if you find that Bullet Journaling isn’t for you then you haven’t invested too much money. Good luck and thanks for stopping by. xoxo

  3. I’ve only just heard about bullet journaling. How fun! And a great outlet for practicing Hand Lettering, too!
Thank you for sharing this week at Brag About It link party on VMG206 (Mondays at Midnight).

    • Thanks, I’ve had to practice lots! I didn’t realize how incorrect my cursive was until I tried to bullet journal, I keep having 4th grade flashbacks 🙂

  4. Too many pens? No Such thing! I’m a bullet journal junkie (are you in that FB group) and totally love Kara’s site. She has amazing ideas. I’m no where near as artistic as she is and I’ve modified bullet journaling elements into my Plum Paper Planner. It has checklists i could add on for my cleaning schedules and habit trackers and lots of extra notes pages. http://momssmallvictories.com/how-to-bullet-journal-in-a-planner/

Anyway thanks for sharing with Small Victories Sunday Linkup. Pinned to our linkup board.
