DIY Fall Coasters

I love decorating the house for fall and DIY projects make it even better. These fall coasters were so easy to make and I think they came out so beautiful.

Fall Coasters - Complete square

Start out by gathering your supplies

  • Small tiles (from Lowe’s or Home Depot)
  • Decorative paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Tacky Craft Glue
  • Varnish
  • Sponge paintbrushes (2)
  • Non-skid foam backing

Fall Coasters - Supplies

Cut the foam backing the size of the coaster and glue them to the back of the tiles. This step will take some time to dry before you can move on.

Fall Coasters - Glue the bottoms

Trim the paper to the desired size and get your designs laid out.  I had some pretty paper leaves leftover from another project that just happened to match the decorative paper perfectly.

Once you have your designs ready, use the Mod Podge to glue the paper on the tiles.

After they have dried a little apply the top coat of varnish.

That’s about it. I let them dry overnight before attempting to use them but that’s it.

Fall Coasters - Complete 2

They are all so pretty I can’t decide which is my favorite…I think it might be the brown one with the leaf.

  1. Brilliant! Coasters are expensive! I just love this craft and to be honest I’m not much of a craft lover. I shared this on FB and Pinterest and will also pass along to my friend who does crafts for MOPS.

  2. What a great idea to use paper on tiles! I love your idea and your coasters are gorgeous. I can see more for Christmas, for Valentine’s Day, summer, etc. 🙂
