Today I have this cute St. Patrick’s Day craft for you. I made this Wooden Leprechaun Hat a couple of years ago and I love it so much I wanted to share it with you here at the Krafty Owl.
To make this project you will need:
The first thing you need to do is sand down the sides and edges of the blocks of wood.
Wipe down the blocks to get all of the excess dust off of them and give them a couple of coats of green paint, allowing time to dry between coats. I gave these about 3 coats.
When the blocks were completely dry I used some gorilla wood glue to glue them together. Jill suggests using clamps but I didn’t have any available so I just piled more wooden blocks on top of the hat. While that was drying I got out Silhouette Cameo and cut out the cute little shamrock from greenish-yellow cardstock. and cut out the cute little shamrock from greenish-yellow cardstock.
After the glue dried I attached the shamrock and the black ribbon. I think it turned out great, what do you think? Huge thanks to Jill for such a great project!
What is your favorite symbol of St. Patrick’s Day?
