This year for Mother’s Day I decided to make myself a little something that I’ve been thinking about for a while now. This pretty heart trinket box and floral wood tray set for my bathroom makeover.

To make these projects you will need:

Ceramic Heart Trinket Box

Floral Wood Tray Set

How to Make the Ceramic Heart Trinket Box

This is super cute and even easier to make! Start off by painting the ceramic heart. I used white gloss but you can use any color you choose! Once the paint has dried, attach two of the Cherry Blossom Petals and add a jewel or button to the center.

That’s it! It turned out so pretty and it’s just the right hint of color that I plan on adding throughout the bathroom.

How to Make the Floral Wood Tray Set

This project is a little more involved than the trinket box and may require a little more time. Begin by painting the tray’s your chosen color; I used Waverly Chalk Paint – Elephant.

While they are drying you have time to get your paper flowers ready. I used my Sizzix Sidekick and the Spring Flowers Die Set to cut out my flowers but a Silhouette or Cricut machine will do the same thing. You might also be able to buy some die-cut flowers in your local craft store.

When the paint is dry, decide how you will arrange the paper flowers on the tray and attach them with a little bit of craft glue. Give that a few minutes to set and coat the entire tray with Modpodge, which will also help seal in the flowers.

  1. Very useful! I wouldn’t have thought to cover the entire tray in Mod Podge (and probably regretted it). Thanks for the head’s up, great tutorial!

  2. They’re lovely Maria, great idea for Mother’s Day. I’ve been dying to get myself a Sizzix, they’s got the most beautiful dies and looking at your trinket and tray set, makes me want one even more

    • Thank you so much Michelle, I love my Sizzix and all the great dies! These flowers are my absolute favorite, I’m surprised they’re not worn out already 😉

  3. What a great idea and it turned out lovely. Thank you for sharing at Dishing it and Digging it link party. We love having you.
