This post is over a year in the making and I’m SO excited My Home Office Makeover is finally complete and I can show you how it turned out! If you’ve been around for a while you might remember I shared this DIY Flower Pot Pen Holder about a year ago, that’s when the transformation began.

I was too embarrassed to take a before picture but imagine this room piled knee high with boxes and stuff everywhere. You could basically walk in the room and go straight toward the desk, that was it! Now, I’m sorry that I don’t have a picture so you could see what exactly I accomplished.
In order to get this room organized and functional, I used the 3 Secrets of a Professional Organizer I shared with you last week. There was a lot of sorting & purging and I still have piles of stuff scattered throughout the house that I need to find new homes for. All total I worked on cleaning out the room about three 8-hour days and I must have filled at least 7 30-gallon garbage bags if not more.
To the left of my desk, in front of the window, is my Silhouette Machine. All the cutting tools and vinyl are in the basket underneath. Next to that is a microwave stand that holds my Canon Printer, some books about organizing and my previous bullet journals.
I found this polka-dot material at Walmart, it was just the right size to cover the Silhouette and it matched the room perfectly! And don’t you LOVE that little ceramic crock pot? I found that at AC Moore on a clearance rack with some other great finds 3 for $10. Gotta love a bargain!
I never formally announced it but I’m participating in One Little Word with Ali Edwards and my word for 2017 is Patience. I’ve been following Ali since the Creating Keepsakes day’s and love her style. Since I recently started working with Project Life, I’ve been reading her blog and watching as many videos as I can to learn as much as possible…but that’s a whole separate post which I hope to share with you soon.

I knew that in order for me to stay organized I would need a shelving unit in the closet next to the printer stand. Mostly it holds my plain and patterned scrapbooking paper, magazines and books about scrapbooking, mainly those written by Becky Higgins. The top shelf holds extra notebooks, index cards, post-it notes etc. I plan on sharing a more intensive look at how my supplies are organized next week.
The next thing in line, as we keep circling around the room, is a second shelving unit. This one has an extra shelf and holds all my crafting tools like stamps, ink, punches, paint, hot glue, etc. These pretty baskets were purchased from Michaels basically one or two at a time over the course of the past year. Whenever I went shopping and the baskets were on sale I would buy one until I had as many as I needed.
Along the next wall is my crafting table. If I’m not working on any other projects I’ve been leaving my Project Life album open to the current week. That way I can see it and am reminded to work on it for a few minutes each day.
I bought the ceramic strawberry container when I bought the crock-pot and it’s perfect for my most used supplies.
There isn’t a door on this room and right now I just have a sheet hanging on a tension rod. As you walk in the door on the right is my soon to be completed command center. I’ve been storing my incoming mail and any other important documents in the bins and have a bunch of washi tape inside the owl vase that’s sitting on the table.
Isn’t this owl vase the cutest? I found it on sale at Dollar General, my favorite color and an owl, I couldn’t resist!
And we’re back full circle to my desk area. To the right is my rolling cart that has my most used supplies so whether I’m working at my desk or the craft table I can take these things with me.
Above the rolling cart is my dry-erase calendar and some other items I like to keep close by. My desk is very basic but perfect for my needs. I bought a couple make-up drawer, divided inserts to keep my pens sorted and organized and they fit perfectly on the pull-out keyboard tray. Yay!
Well, that’s it! Nothing’s perfect and I’m sure the space will always be evolving depending on my needs at that time but I felt that it was perfect enough to show you right now. I don’t plan on any major changes because I LOVE the way it turned out and would sleep in this room if I could.
